Mahnmal für Zwangsarbeiter

Piece description from the artist

Mahnmal für Zwangsarbeiter or Memorial for Forced Laborers is located on Lake Pheonix in the city of Dortmund, Germany. It is intended to commemorate the up to 80,000 foreign forced laborers who were exploited in the industrial city of Dortmund during the Second World War. Around a quarter of these men and women performed forced labor at the Dortmund-Hörder Hüttenunion (DHHU). There is now a lake on the site of his Phoenix-Ost factory.

About Randall Scherkenbach

Hales Corners, WI

I'm a part time photographer based in Wisconsin. I enjoy all types of photography, especially long exposures, landscapes and architectural shots.

I also enjoy the social side of the photography hobby. I love to organize and participate in photowalks and to pass on to others what I know about photography, and also learn from them as well.

When I'm not out chasing sunsets, doing photowalks or shooting pictures of just about anything, I work in Information Technology.
