Piece description from the artist
Make Us Daring was inspired by awakening spring colors.
I started this painting with acrylic paint and blended it like watercolors. Although I guide the paint, I also let the colors and shapes develop naturally.
My paintings often begin with a single driving emotion. From that, an image develops, inspired by the colors, cycles and feelings of the environment.
Sunsets, moonscapes, flowers, the changing seasons — all of these are sources of inspiration, adding richness and layers of complexity to my paintings.
Even industrial spaces and structures figure prominently in my work, contrasting the artifice of the cityscape against the limitless beauty of the sky.
As I paint, I seek to redefine the spaces around us and how they connect to our lives.
I use only the highest quality professional-grade oil paints and natural non-toxic solvents to produce archival paintings. This piece is on a gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. The work comes wired to hang.
