Mater Suspiriorum

Piece description from the artist

This painting belongs to the 'Wondering Heights' collection, a series of cityscapes/mindscapes and lyrical skies representing collective dreams and desires drifting and sparkling above a brutalist concrete jungle. A tribute to the colourful power of imagination as a relief from everyday life and urban greyness but also to the challenges and inputs to inner growth and self-discovery that life in the big city can exposes individuals to.

Original is made of recycled materials: reused wooden panels, discarded wall paint leftovers, paper cut-outs of digital images treated with acrylic resins and seamlessly incorporated into the composition.

The juxtaposition of the three different techniques (digital, oil and acrylic) gives the whole image a distinctive depth and intensity.
