/mend/ Vol 4.0

Piece description from the artist

The definition of the word mend refers to making something that was broken or damaged, whole
again…useful. The artworks in this series are visual explorations of skin connectivity, as it relates to the process of wounds healing, becoming whole again. The granular texture represents the scarring process, which is part of the body’s natural process of healing and strengthening damaged tissue. Through these creations, I'm confronting my own personal challenges of trying to mend. Each completed piece provides me with optimism about overcoming trauma and becoming beautiful & useful.
