Meraki, II

Piece description from the artist

Meraki… To do something with soul, creativity or love; to put something of yourself into your work. These strokes, these movements created out of love and passion for mark making are inspired by the natural beauty and energy of our surroundings. The movement of the water, the wind… where can you find it and where will they take you? It is my hope that it is to a place of connection… to a moment of stillness that can only be found in the fleeting movements of the wind and the wave.

About Maggie Jones Boudreaux

Ruston, LA

Maggie Jones Boudreaux loves all things, she is naturally curious and enjoys exploring all things to do with color, line and shape. Her consistency is inconsistency. Her work varies as her life varies. She enjoys creating abstracts, landscapes and botanicals. Maggie finds joy working in bright vibrant rich colors and find peace in soothing, calming neutrals. She says, " I cant't ever imagine sticking to one palette nor one subject matter. I believe it would take the joy out creating for me." Her enthusiasm comes from a natural curiosity of the world that surrounds her.
What's next? She is unsure… It is her aim to put one foot in front of the other and create based upon her daily experiences and blessings life brings her way. This is her spark. Her Joy. Maggie says, "She is forever grateful to be who she is and where she is. Her work is a response, an expression of her gratitude.

Maggie Jones Boudreaux has been working as a professional artist for the past fifteen years. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting with an emphasis in printing making as well a Masters of Education.
