Monochrome 4

Piece description from the artist

The exceptional power of color as a medium that allows you to directly appeal to the viewer captivates more than one generation of artists. The series "Color Fields" by Nazar Symotiuk can be perceived as an echo of abstract expressionism, but in a new aesthetic form. Representation of perceptual contents that create a transcendental space. Like the "color field" painter Barnett Newman, the author finds his own "lightning that brings everything to life."
The artist uses optical effects and achieves a special textured sound in his wooden panels. The depth and interaction of color helps viewers to dissolve in the semantic space of the works.
Clement Greenberg, a key theorist of abstract expressionism, wrote: “The borders of large canvases play the same role as the inner lines of forms. They share, but do not separate, close or isolate anything. They set boundaries, but they don't limit anything…"
