The Ferris wheel at National Harbor, known as the Capital Wheel in a dramatic black and white image over the Potomac river from the walking path around the basin. National Harbor, in Maryland, is a popular evening destination easily reached from the nation's capital of Washington DC.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot.
