Mountain Gorilla Sanctuary

Piece description from the artist

This artwork is a digital painting of the Virunga Volcano in the Virunga wildlife sanctuary in The Democratic Republic of the Congo. It depicts a lush, green landscape dominated by a volcano. The volcano is surrounded by vibrant greenery and partially obscured by mist, creating a sense of depth and atmosphere. The sky above is painted with shades of blue and gray, suggesting a cloudy or overcast day. The overall composition combines natural elements such as trees, foliage, and grass, capturing the serene and tranquil beauty of nature. The use of soft brush strokes and a blend of colors adds an impressionistic touch to the painting. The sanctuary, one of the few remaining homes to mountain gorillas, is threatened by Belgian oil prospectors.
