The goal of this photo was to showcase not only the lighthouse tower, but also the light-keeper's house. Incorporating the two buildings required enough space to balance the image, while at the same time filling the frame. The presence of fog was important, as it occupies the negative space, helping to diffuse the light and create a soft color gradient.
