Piece description from the artist
This image was taken on the third night of the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, August 27, 2008, as Barack Obama made a surprise appearance to join Joe Biden, to the delight of the thousands of delegates packing the Pepsi Center. The detail on this page is most of the center panel of a three-panel mural. Relive the moment in this astonishingly detailed all-embracing mural made from more than 300 individual photographs. This mural truly puts you in the middle of the action. 48" high x 120" wide, with a one-inch gallery wrap (divided into three 40″x48″ panels), ready to hang. LImited to an edition of 40, and prices will go up as supplies dwindle.
Steve Farley took his first photograph with a Kodak Instamatic at the age of six. He has traveled the world ever since, finding engaging imagery everywhere, and bringing it back to us. Steve creates his large-scale photographs by digitally collaging many zoomed-in images to increase detail and reveal changing colors, movement, and angles.
Steve is also the public artist who invented a way to convert photographs into glazed ceramic tile murals using a process called Tilography. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Dallas, Norfolk, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, San Jose, Fort Lauderdale, and many other locations.
