Piece description from the artist
After months of trying to find the right connection, I finally found someone that had access and desire to let me onto the roof of the Orlando City Soccer Stadium in the dead of night just to photograph a rocket launch. After several scrubbed launches around Thanksgiving, a new launch date was selected in early January. The sky looked a bit overcast, but the rocket was bright as it soared through the sky.
To get the shot, we had to climb up a crazy 30 foot ladder with three cameras and tripods. I always shoot backup cameras just in case, but this time, my primary shot worked out and the rest is history. Still my favorite photo that I have ever produced.
A blog post about the full story behind this image got picked up by one of the largest online publications for photographers, PetaPixel.
