The computer generated pastel drawing captures the contrast between the soft colors of the sky and the water and the sharp edges of the skyscrapers. I tried to use light and shadow to create a sense of depth and perspective, as well as to highlight the details of the buildings. The drawing also conveys a mood of calmness and tranquility, as the city seems to be resting in the evening light.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
