Pomegranate Stem

Piece description from the artist

It begins life as a blood red flower. It then morphs into a tiny tube shape. Fame lies in its future, as it has been made into an elixir and touted for its healing properties.

When I visited my mother's house, this branch from her pomegranate tree caught my eye. Its prehistoric fruit and intense color is as intriguing as its allegorical health benefits.

I focus on everyday plants, flowers and trees, searching for the intrinsic beauty and intelligent design present in all living things.

This is a TurningArt exclusive limited edition print available in editions of 100.

About Christina Angarola Hsu

Carlsbad, CA

Christina Angarola Hsu is a Southern California native who comes from multiple generations of artists. She received her first camera at the age of 12; from then until now, photography has been not only a means of expression but a means of exploration, a gateway into new worlds and ways of thinking. Though she began her career as a commercial photographer in Los Angeles, Christina now exclusively concentrates on her fine art, finding poetic moments in daily life and in nature. Her subject matter often dictates the process she chooses—from traditional film, digital, vintage and lensless cameras to handmade limited edition photo books. Christina’s work has been collected and exhibited throughout the United States and abroad.
