Piece description from the artist
The random fairy of Newbury Street, Boston MA.
Originally from Connecticut and now residing in the Boston area, Carl Licence has enjoyed various creative endeavors. After working several years in a handful of industries – finance, human resources consulting, and technology — Carl decided to re-booted his artistic career and enrolled in The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. At the Museum School Carl earned a degree in graphic design and a degree in illustration. Currently Carl is pursuing a Masters in Liberal Arts – Visual Arts from Harvard University.
Carl’s artwork involves a variety of mediums such as wood decor, digital photography, illustration, charcoal sketching, and scratch board art. His work can be best defined as an exploration of fine details often missed in life and an exploration of the solitude in which we live in and the various way we all survive urban life, particularly how we all carve out small niches to help define and protect out own small space.
