While enjoying a hike through Garden Of The Gods, I stopped to enjoy this view of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains with a sunburst through the clouds before sunset. I love the layers and rows of the mountains. Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United State, the mountains are breathtaking. I was hiking by myself so the occasional sounds of coyotes howling or the sounds of movement from deer did make me look around and a little nervous. It was our first night there for our trip and my husband was back at the hotel not feeling well. Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
