Sacrifice Sculpture on Arlington Memorial Bridge

WASHINGTON, DC – Sacrifice sculpture by Leo Friedlander, one of four statues in the Arts of War, Sacrifice, and Valor series on the corners of Memorial Bridge and Theodore Roosevelt Bridge that were gifts from the people of Italy. The Sacrifice sculpture is on the northeast corner of the bridge and is the closest of the four to the Lincoln Memorial. The statues were dedicated on 26 September 1951. The other statues are named Aspiration and Literature Music and Harvest, and Valor.
