Inspired by visits to Pawleys Island South Carolina and exploration of the coastal tidal salt marshes around the Low Country. I tried to capture the textures and colors or the sea grasses, salted weathered wood and water with the texture of the oil and cold wax paint.
Cynthia Fletcher is a painter, working in oil, acrylic, and digital media. Her style is abstract with jewel-tone color, texture, layering, and symbolism. Nature is her chief inspiration, and her work focuses on experiences there, using abstraction to go beyond form to capture and communicate light, color, and sensation.
Fletcher is also a Landscape Architect who has lived and worked in a variety of environments from Chicago to the rainforest of Panama. Her lakeside studio is located in Oklahoma City.
