Piece description from the artist
A storm moves in quickly over Monument Valley in Arizona, USA as I focus on a Salvia plant with tiny blueish purple blooms alongside the dirt road that runs through the park. The orange desert dirt and butte rock formations contrasts with the darkening blue sky. The wildflowers, even though small, really stand out against the orange. This popular tourist site is at Navajo Tribal Park in northeast Navajo County. This is also known as the 7th wonder of Navajoland. Salvia is a perennial sage plant that produces spikes of pale blue flowers in the spring and summer. It's a member of the Lamiaceae family.
