Sanctuary

Lyle Everett Rushing was born in Monroe, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina and served honorably in the US Navy. These years had an ilasting impact on his mindset and can be seen in each of his pieces.

As an artist, his creative process is based mainly on instinct and passion, combining the calm sensibility of his southern upbringing with the urgency of his urban setting in Los Angeles. In doing so, Lyle attempts to capture emotions and moments in time, and he hopes to encourage conversation as well as quiet contemplation. He enjoys using rudimentary materials, such as graphite, oil sticks and charcoal, and he has recently begun painting with acrylic on wood.

Lyle currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
