Set Fire To The Rain (detail)

Piece description from the artist

A feeling of floating on gentle sea currents while sunlight dances on the surface around you…
The Recycled Rain Show is a yearly group exhibition in Portland, Oregon. This piece was created for the show and was made entirely using rain water and acrylic paint. Collecting, filtering, storing and painting with the rain water made me feel even more in touch with mother nature and her cycles. I did some research and learned that raindrops are born round, and although they change shape as they fall, they are never the classic raindrop shape we imagine. Knowing raindrops are born round, inspired the circles in the painting, thus representing the rain.
