I just finished doing chores when I looked out and saw dad coming in with the horse. He just finished up doing a night check on the sheep and decided to walk in instead of riding my horse. As the blue hour was approaching the lantern stood strong in the night.
Tanya Hamner graduated with her MFA in photography from the Academy of Art University, Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Communications from the University of Wyoming, and Associates of Science in Agriculture Business from Northwest College. Tanya runs her family sheep ranch in Pinedale, Wy. Hamner has received numerous awards from her photos being in contests and galleries. Hamner is a PRCA Photographer (professional rodeo cowboys association) while teaching photography at Western Wyoming Community College. She works both digital film, and alternative processing with her work. Hamner mainly documents ranches and rides out with the cowboys to document their work, while photographing from atop a horse, she also helps the cowboys with the tasks. She is in the middle of publishing her first book about the American Cowboy. Hamner has been selected as the Mountain States Circuit finals rodeo photographer for 2022.
