The painting was inspired by photos of sand dunes. There are many beautiful neutral tones of white, grey, brown, gold, and beige in this painting, so the color palette works well in a minimalist setting. In addition, the contrasting colors give the painting depth so it more closely resembles an actual desert landscape of shifting and rolling sand dunes.
Denise is an artist from Arvada, Colorado. She draws her inspiration for painting from nature and likes to paint landscapes. Since she is surrounded by the beauty of the mountains of Colorado, there is a lot of inspiration to draw upon. She also recently has begun branching out to abstract painting with acrylic paints and experimenting with various filters in digital graphics applications.
