This piece was created using plaster and acrylic. I used tissue paper from a shoebox. Up close you can see the imprint of a sneaker. This piece includes of a lot of depth and texture.
Matlyn is a self-taught abstract artist who finds art in the most unusual places. A sports lover with a longtime interest in health and wellness, her work is experimental, organic, and unconventional: She often uses unexpected materials like basketball nets, footballs, forks, and other household objects to evoke the diverse textures that make up urban and suburban landscapes.
