Piece description from the artist
San Vicente Redwoods is in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. This area is has a history of logging, mining and fires. Conservation projects here have been restoring the natural habitats of both the streams and forests. This waterfall appeared only after an unused dam was removed downstream, allowing the water to flow more freely. I have been documenting the changes resulting from projects like this for almost 7 years because I feel it is important to show that people can have a positive effect on nature.

Traveling with a camera allows me to record the world as I see and experience it. Since our world is constantly changing, photography helps me bring a piece of it home to share. Every trip inspires the next adventures and it doesn't matter if I travel across countries or to the next county, new experiences seem to wait around every corner. My images reflect my experiences and I am happy to share them.
I have been fortunate enough to have traveled though much of Europe and North America experiencing the beauty and grandeur of so many natural and human places. An education in photography including a master’s degree has allowed me to teach and share my knowledge for almost 20 years.
