Loose abstract brushstrokes capture the energy of the wind and the waves along the seashore. Blues and greens meld against frothy waves and cumulus clouds above the ocean. This is part of a coordinating set.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
