Space Shuttle in its final flight over Washington DC

Piece description from the artist

Space Shuttle Discovery flies over Washington DC on April 17, 2012 en route to its final resting place in the Air and Space Museum. The shuttle has been enlarged to show detail as it actually flew further away rather than directly in this position. But thought that this composite would make a nice image of how it could have looked!

About Steven Heap

Morgantown, WV

Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
