This photograph was taken at Windansea Beach in La Jolla, California on a winter morning. The photo's title refers to the solitary seagull on the left side of the image, and the group of birds on the right side of the image. The solitary seagull seems to be saying this is my rock, and you all stay over there.
Joseph is a self-taught photographer living in San Diego, California. Joseph wants to approach his photography from a place of simplicity and avoid making this enjoyable and creative process overburdened from a technical standpoint. He still continues working to improve his craft all the while though. His photographs are presented in a straightforward way and engage the creative process to produce photographs of familiar subjects in an impressionistic and abstract manner. His simple hope is that his photographic work promotes an interest in art and that it expresses joy and beauty.
