City skyline from the west of downtown Austin Texas from the Zilker metropolitan park at sunset. I had visited this park for the first time to see the Zilker Christmas tree on New Year's Eve, but the skyline of the city above the trees of the park was equally spectacular with the warm light from the setting sun illuminating the buildings. This gives a nice view of the changing skyline and shows how close downtown is to broad open areas for people to walk and play sports.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
