Piece description from the artist
I was inspired by the beautiful colorful fish in the water while snorkeling. I liked the fact they were all different sizes and swimming in all directions as though they were mixed up and had no idea where they were going. The water was painted by layering different shades of blue and green one on top of the other making a rich, thick textural effect. Despite the fact that I hate eating fish and don't like swimming much, I was inspired by the many fish she saw in the shallow ocean water.
