Exploring the silhouette/textures of plants found in the tropical jungle. The plants are from the rainforest near Boquete Panama, where I lived for 4 years.
This painting is a mono-print created with a gel printing plate. The plate was inked with paint and pressed over an arrangement of collected jungle plants laid on painted paper.
Cynthia Fletcher is a painter, working in oil, acrylic, and digital media. Her style is abstract with jewel-tone color, texture, layering, and symbolism. Nature is her chief inspiration, and her work focuses on experiences there, using abstraction to go beyond form to capture and communicate light, color, and sensation.
Fletcher is also a Landscape Architect who has lived and worked in a variety of environments from Chicago to the rainforest of Panama. Her lakeside studio is located in Oklahoma City.
