Piece description from the artist
John Brown Farm, Lake Placid, NY. Formerly the family home of abolitionist John Brown. After the Confederacy tried and executed him for his raid on Harper's Ferry his body was transported to this farm for burial.
Kevin Smith’s work reflects his love of nature, the Adirondack region of New York State, and New England. Although Kevin once lived in the Adirondacks, he ultimately made his home along the coast of Maine. He now finds his inspiration not only in the remotest areas of the Adirondack Park, but also in the beauty found along the east coast. A self-taught artist, he uses a pouring and blending technique.
Since 1998, Kevin’s work has been featured in many prestigious shows throughout the region New England. His landscapes are vibrant, imaginative, and graphic.
