Piece description from the artist
Shot just before moon rise, I loved the way that I could get most of this bizarre tree in frame. Feeling a little bit adventurous, I decided this tree could use some light painting as a subject. After a few shots, I decided that I liked a wavy halo effect the best, and used my headlight to run in a circle around the tree while the camera was open.
