A field of tall grass and little wildflowers surrounded this simple little farmhouse, long ago abandoned on the plains of rural America. I love these tiny simple homes, a reminder of our roots before technology and McMansions dotted the landscape. Built by hand, these small but sturdy homes created a safe haven for humans on the open plains for many years, and survive to tell their stories after all this time. I like to think of them as keepers of memories, surviving to show their fortitude throughout the seasons.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
