Piece description from the artist
Even a rainy, gloomy, and cool day couldn't keep this couple from enjoying the beautiful Mackinac Bridge and Lake Huron. They choose to enjoy the beautiful view. The Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge running across the Straits of Mackinac. It connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan. Opened in 1957, the 26,372-foot (4.995 mile) bridge, which is also known as "Big Mac" or "Mighty Mac", is the world's 19th longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western Hemisphere. The Mackinac Bridge is part of Interstate 75 and separates Lake Michigan and Huron which is part of the Great Lakes. The bridge connects the city of St. Ignace on the north end with the village of Mackinaw City on the south end of the bridge.
