This little farmhouse is surrounded by rolling hills and gnarled trees, shaped by wind and harsh weather. These little farmhouses are a testament to their hand-built craftsmanship, as they have lasted decades on the hard scrabble landscape of Montana. I like to think about the strength and fortitude of the people who lived there, and how they must have had inner strength to work the land in such an unforgiving environment.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
