Piece description from the artist
This is a mixed media piece on canvas. I used acrylic paint and brayer to get a loose color-field background to evoke atmosphere then used a monotype technique to enhance the composition with shapes and additional color . The whole effect is to evoke memory of bits and pieces of the past.
Don’s work is a crossover between pure abstraction and references to the natural world. Color and texture are key elements in his work. His effort is to play with chaos and create balance through layers of transparent color and hue.
