Grain Elevators have long been icons of the American West. Tall, boxy, and usually the highest structures in the rural areas, the tower over the plains, and are placed next to train tracks where passing trains collect the local harvest and transport it to processing plants to be made into consumer products. Even to this day, they remain standing, made by hand and built to last. On this day, I was lucky enough to capture the blur of a passing train as it rolled by this old grain elevator outside of Broadview, Montana.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
