Piece description from the artist
Taken at night under the 12th Street Viaduct in the West Bottoms of Kansas City Missouri. The West Bottoms used to be the industrial hub of commerce in Kansas City with the stockyards, manufacturing, and abundant train lines. Currently it is mostly warehouses and some condo conversion, but still an active rail yard.
David Remley has loved every minute of his 36 years as a professional photographer. He is most proud of the vast variety of subjects he has been able to capture using styles such as black and white photography, macrophotography and color photography. He particularly enjoys self-assigned journeys with a particular camera-lens combination or a theme in mind. In addition to working in stills, David is also a videographer for both weddings and various businesses. The black and white works of John Sexton have greatly influenced David’s artistic point of view, while Annie Liebowitz’ commercial work continues to influence his eye for portraiture.
