Uthitha Paatha angushtasana is a part of the Yoga poses art series. The Art series attempts to capture the grace in yoga. The geometry, stability, and elegance that a human achieves are depicted with a single continuous stroke. The minimalism and delicacy of the strokes express the true essence of yoga. Yoga in Art is a mixed media art series / project created by the Munich artist/ architect Shankar Ramakrishnan. Hailing from a traditional south Indian family, he is greatly passionate about yoga. He wanted to combine Yoga & fine art, this desire led to the creation of a fine mixed media art series YOGA IN ART. The art series captures the elegance of yoga and also touches upon different themes in Yoga.
Shankar Studied Art / Architecture in Stadelschule Frankfurt, Germany, The Bauhaus and minimalism art movement had a huge impact on him. This influence helped him develop a minimalist art style. Free-flowing curves, bold strokes, pastel colors are dominant characteristics. He likes to combine different digital and analog techniques to create an art piece. Shankar work is majorly mixed media. Shankar has exhibited his work at Groebenzell Gemeinde Rathaus and his works are regularly on display at Poster gallery Munich, Munich.
