Piece description from the artist
Utility masquerading as a woman was a delicate piece inspired by the concept that it's easy to lose ones self in keeping everyone else going. It is one of my personal favorites.
Dusty Reed is an emerging artist living in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. She is influenced and inspired by lowbrow, cubism, and surrealism.
Dusty combines vibrant colors, raw energy, and interesting subject matter to create a unique visual experience. Her paintings focus on a wide variety of themes. A number of her pieces incorporate dark imagery and are highly emotional, while others seem to evoke a sense of humor. In either case, these surreal images allow the viewer to engage and develop their own understanding of each piece.
While she is an emerging artist, Dusty’s work has been published in issue 15 of Catapult-Art Mag and is participating in a gallery show, "The Story of the Creative," in NYC later this year.
