Piece description from the artist
This photo captures a road leading into the Valley of Fire National Park in Nevada. My goal in focusing on this view was to demonstrate how vast the rock formations can be in nature and how small a person can feel when driving so close to these ancient red cliffs. I looked for a break in the clouds to show off the brilliance of the red rock color, and I tried to find a solitary car in the distance to show the contrast in size between man and nature. I hope the viewer can feel transported to an area in the natural world, and away from the hustle of urban masses. The color palette is unusual in the copper tones of the rock and this contrasted well with the deep blue of the sky.
