Piece description from the artist
Every so often the stars align and life settles down a little where I can go capture a sunset. This happened on this particular evening. I was able to hop in the car and drive up to the southern portion of the Horicon Wildlife Refuge in Horicon, WI. When I got there it was somewhat underwhelming. So I hiked around and stopped at this location and started setting up my tripod & camera. The sunset at the time was a bit overcast, the clouds were diffused enough that it hid the shape of the sun. I started playing with a couple filters and capturing when my camera battery died. With the underwhelming sunset, I was thinking of packing up but decided just to be patient a bit longer. I am glad I did because once the sun went below the horizon this epic scene emerged.
Father. Husband. Engineer. Photography.
Yep in that order. I love photography, but I also love being a father of three, a husband, and a professional engineer.
I work in downtown Milwaukee, WI, and live in Waukesha, WI. However, I will capture anywhere between and then some.
My inspiration is being able to get outside and enjoy the environment. Life moves fast, photography helps me freeze it, at least for a little while. Primarily, I like to capture landscapes and architecture. As a father of three little kids, I also get to capture as my families grows.
