Piece description from the artist
On a recent vacation in National Harbor I, somewhat foolishly on a hot afternoon, decided to walk from the hotel over the Wilson Bridge towards Alexandria. As well as some great views of both the National Harbor and Alexandria, I thought this view from the bridge trail of the Woodrow Wilson bridge carrying I-495 Capital beltway across Potomac river really showed the structure and strength of the bridge itself and made a great composition with the sweeping line towards Alexandria
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
