Dorothy Angela is a native New Yorker who bridges the gap between two worlds – that of mental health and that of the arts. The juxtaposition between the two unrelated fields adds a compelling layer to the complexity and depth of her work.
She knew from a young age that art held a significant place in here heart, first recognizing the call in grade school when inspired particularly by Seurat's pointillism and French Impressionism.
She went on to pursue her artistic passion at Parson's School of Design and Adelphi University, as well as The Art Students League of New York, where she is now a Life Member. Proving her dedication and commitment to this path, Dorothy further honed her artistic skills and techniques, despite pursuing a career in the medical/psychiatry field.
Her creative process utilizes watercolor or silverpoint, leading to artwork that reflects her unique style and perspective.
Works have been exhibited at The Art Students League of New York, The Art League of Long Island, and local libraries.
