Erica Castle

Erica Melville Castle has been painting since she was six years old and took her first art class at a local art museum. The class inspired her to continue to develop her artistic skill throughout her youth and college years. Ultimately, she pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting, which she completed in 2008. Today she works primarily in oil on canvas and enjoys drawing with ink or "gouache":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gouache on paper.

Erica Melville’s paintings are vivid abstractions based on landscapes and cityscapes. She utilizes elements from both the natural and the man-made environment to produce a colorful, imagined world that is full of beauty. Erica’s work is joyful and edgy at the same time.
