About Katie Ré Scheidt
Roxbury, CT
Expressionist painter Katie Ré Scheidt was born in NYC and raised in Bronxville, NY. Always an artist at heart, she trained at Cecil Graves in Florence, Italy one summer at age sixteen, and continued painting in college at Georgetown University, where she majored in Psychology. Scheidt pursued a career in finance on Wall Street where she spent more than a decade, while taking occasional art classes at School of Visual Art in New York. A 9/11 survivor, Scheidt stayed with her firm eight years after the tragedy to rebuild, and in 2010 made a major life change by trading in her finance career for a life in the country, with her focus on family and art. Scheidt’s "Second Act" blossomed quickly as she began selling her work to designers and homeowners, and quickly gained gallery representation up and down the East Coast.
Scheidt has built a robust business in custom paintings ranging from abstracts, portraiture, landscapes and nudes. Gestural brushstrokes and a passion for color are characteristic to all of her pieces. Scheidt's work can be found in private collections worldwide. Her work currently hangs at various Auberge Resorts and Relais & Chateaux hotels in New England.
