Image captured on a particularly beautiful sunset evening at El Matador Beach in Malibu, California. The original of this image is shot on color transparency, which allowed for the long lost anticipation of waiting to see results until the film is processed. On this particular evening, I knew I had created and witnessed something very special. I had implemented some personal techniques of which I was beginning to fine tune as an artist at the time The diffraction of the last moments of sunset light created this expressive, intense warm scene… as though fireworks were bursting on the beach! Perhaps one of my most treasured personal image for what it taught me about photography and the spiritual capability of rendering light in unique ways.
