The Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado is a stunning landscape of contrasts and curves. I captured this image on a sunny day, when the blue sky and the golden sand created a striking contrast. The dunes are shaped by the wind and the water, forming sensual curves and patterns that invite the eye to explore. I wanted to convey the drama and the beauty of this natural wonder, as well as the sense of awe and wonder that I felt when I was there.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
