The skyline of Austin, Texas is ever changing as new buildings are constructed, each going after the title of the highest building in the city. This particular aerial image taken by my drone over the Colorado River shows the cityscape as it exists in early 2025. I added a digital pastel painting effect because I felt that hiding some of the details of the city made the image into a more evocative piece, and nicely highlighted the warm colors in the sky.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
