The port of Avalon on the tiny island of Catalina off the California coast was a perfect place for a wedding anniversary and we were lucky to stay at the hotel on the hilltop above the harbor. Even luckier to have a dramatic sunrise to capture from the patio of the hotel before breakfast! Magical location and a photograph that I treasure and one that will perhaps bring back memories for you.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
